How Many?

How many people do you think can fit in a van? You'd be suprised. Last Friday, after a morning at the market, I found out exactly how many can be shoved in a transport.

I was stuffed in the very back with my two friends, Zee and Tatienda, and I was finding it incredible there was even room for one more person! There were 4-6 people to each row and everyone had bags or children in their laps. The windows were open and brought a warm breeze that smelled of sweat and roasted corn. I was thoroughly enjoying my experience as we drove around Chiredzi. Although we were constantly starting and stopping, and it took us half an hour to get to my house five minutes away, it was better than walking all hot and sweaty.

As we were getting off, the “ticket” guy took our dollar (for three of us) and asked me, “Sister, what’s your name?” I told him and he was very proud that a Murungu had ridden in his bus.

So, how many people were on that bus? Take a guess. Think about it... Some of you may guess it right off. Now, comment on this post on Facebook and let's see how many of you will get it right. Have fun!
